Rose Quartz Crystal Eclipse Pendant ($149.95)

$149.95

Product Description

This pendant has touched the shadow of the Moon. LIMITED QUANTITIES
On August 21, 2017, the students of Earth to Sky Calculus launched 11 space weather balloons from the path of totality of the Great American Solar Eclipse. They aimed to photograph the Moon’s shadow from the stratosphere and take unique measurements of cosmic radiation–and they succeeded! Some of the balloons carried jewelry into the eclipse. This rose quartz crystal pendant traveled more than 93,000 feet high into the stratosphere above Oregon’s Malheur National Forest. During its 2.5 hour flight, the pendant was wrapped in the Moon’s cold shadow for more than two minutes, experiencing spooky darkness and temperatures as low as -50 C. After the balloon exploded (as planned) the pendant parachuted back to Earth, landing near the south fork of the John Day River in Oregon.
Each pendant comes with a unique gift card showing the jewelry passing through the Moon’s shadow and floating at the top of Earth’s atmosphere. The interior of the card tells the story of the flight and confirms that this gift has been to the edge of space and back again.
